I did it!
I uploaded my first studio vlog.
I honestly didn't think that I would actually upload it on time. I had so little time to edit and it took so many hours to do so. I had finished literally the morning of upload day.
Recording
I had done all the recording for the video the day I got my camera in. I really wanted to do as much as I could. Only because I wanted to spend more time on the editing. It was a learning curve. I didn't know what angles to do (still don't) or what exactly I should record. So I recorded almost everything. I had forgotten to record some things because out-of-sight, out-of-mind.
I think my favorite thing to record was my tablet. So much easier to get footage of that than it was my sketchbook. But I think the sketchbook shots looked a little nicer...
Editing
I found editing to be a drag.
I don't really like it. But I enjoyed it more once I put in music. The most boring part was going through all the footage I had and deciding what to keep and what to cut. It was harder than I thought, actually. There was a learning curve in what actually goes into a studio vlog. I had watched a number of studio vlogs from other creators to study. I'll be honest, it didn't help me much. But I shouldn't copy others if I want to be myself. Besides, I figured I'll figure things out, what my flow is, as I continue to make more studio vlogs.
During the editing phase, I recorded the voiceover parts.
Ew.
For some reason, my voice was completely against me as I recorded it. I wasn't a fan, but it was good enough. That's the biggest lesson I've learned. Good enough is what I will be striving for. I can't allow my perfectionism to get in the way.
Final Thoughts
I'm okay with how the video ended up.
And being okay with it is good enough.
I look forward to finishing my next video. I've already recorded most of the contents, I just need to finish recording and start editing the video. Even though I don't like editing much,, I look forward to getting it done. I'm also excited to see where this will take me. Learning these new skills and putting myself out there more than I already do. I don't like attention, yet here I am...
asking for attention.
Until next time!
